Cestilene HD1000 (now TIVAR 1000) R (PE-UHMW)

Black / green - Molecular weight of about 4,500,000 g/mol.

This grade, partially composed of reprocessed HD 1000 material, has an overall lower property level than the virgin Cestilene HD1000 (now TIVAR 1000) and a lower cost.

CESTIDUR (now TIVAR DS grey) (PE-UHMW)

(Blue grey) - Molecular weight of about 7,000,000 g/mol.

The higher molecular weight and the particular manufacturing process of this material result in a PE-UHMW grade with superior wear and abrasion resistance. Cestidur (now TIVAR DS grey) has proven to be able to deal with the toughest bearing and wear jobs in all kinds of industries.

CESTILITE ASTL (now TIVAR 1000 ASTL) (PE-UHMW + additives)

(Black) - Molecular weight of about 9,000,000 g/mol.

CESTILITE ASTL (now TIVAR 1000 ASTL) has been specifically developed for the toughest anti-abrasion applications. The additives used also confer this material static dissipative and UV-stabilised properties. This reduces the risk of explosions when handling certain bulk materials on the one hand and make the material suitable for outdoor use on the other hand.

CESTITECH 7000 (now TIVAR TECH 7000) (PE-UHMW + additives)

(Grey-black) - Molecular weight of about 9,000,000 g/mol.

This grade, made from a PE-UHMW resin with extremely high degree of polymerisation, contains specific additives which result in a material with very good wear resistance and sliding properties. Its particular manufacturing process (high pressure and very long sintering cycle) results into stock shapes with low internal stress level and excellent overall quality

CESTILITE V20 (PE-UHMW + additives)

(Black) - Molecular weight of about 5,000,000 g/mol.

Addition of particular mineral fillers to PE-UHMW results into a material with low coefficient of friction and improved wear and abrasion resistance, remaining, however, very gentle towards the wires. Typical applications include components for handling and conveying systems for bulk abrasive materials and dewatering elements such as forming boards, foils, deflectors, suction box covers and sealing strips, where CESTILITE V20 has proven to offer much longer times than regular PE-UHMW grades to both plastic parts and wires.

CESTILITE VST (PE-UHMW + additives)

(Ivory) - Molecular weight of about 9,000,000 g/mol.

This grade, whose composition is similar to the one of CESTILITE V20 is made by means of a particular manufacturing process from a PE-UHMW resin with extremely high degree of polymerisation. CESTILITE VST has proved in practice to be the ideal PE-UHMW based material for the manufacture of components for handling and conveying systems for bulk abrasive materials and the dewatering elements described above, in the latter case often offering a valid price/performance alternative to ceramics.

CESTIGREEN AST (PE-UHMW + additives)

(Green) - Molecular weight of about 9,000,000 g/mol.

This permanently static dissipative material has been specifically developed as an alternative for CESTILITE ASTL (now TIVAR 1000 ASTL) and more particularly for those applications where a non-black and non-sloughing (without graphite or carbon powder) static dissipative PE-UHMW is required. The additives used in its proprietary composition also confer CESTIGREEN AST a remarkable wear resistance.

CESTIFLAME (PE-UHMW + additives)

(Black) - Molecular weight of about 5,000,000 g/mol.

CESTIFLAME, manufactured under high pressure from a polyethylene with very high degree of polymerisation, incorporates a very effective flame retardant.
Specifically developed to improve the poor flammability behaviour of straight forward virgin polyethylene, it meets the requirements of UL 94 V-0 at 10 mm thickness. The additives used also confer this material static dissipative properties.
Addition of a particular, non-halogenated flame retardant results in a PE-UHMW grade that is better suited for use in potentially flammable environments in industry branches such as material handling, general mechanical construction, transport systems, ….

BOROLENE (now Borotron) (PE-HMW or PE-UHMW + boron)

(White) - Molecular weight of 500,000 up to 5,000,000 g/mol.

The BOROLENE-family of boron loaded PE-(U)HMW grades has been developed for neutron shielding purposes in nuclear installations. The inherent high hydrogen content of PE-(U)HMW makes it very suitable for slowing down fast neutrons to lower energy thermal (slow) neutrons, which are then absorbed by the added boron compound.

Whereas both PE-HMW and PE-UHMW are suitable for neutron shielding, PE-UHMW is often preferred because of its better deformation behaviour at high temperatures and its superior impact strength and wear resistance.
BOROLENE can be tailor made to meet the requirements of each specific application, with boron loads ranging from 1 up to 10% by weight ; e.g. BOROLENE 4505 (PE-UHMW containing 5% by weight of boron).
